I’ve gone green! Was originally a fade from blonde to pink, so I decided to try and preserve the pink a little bit. The green is Manic Panic Venus Envy, and the pink is faded RAW Fuchsia.
My verdict - success!
Hair still smells slightly of tomatoes, but most traces of green are gone.
I will need to tone my hair again soon, as I feel it may have stripped a little of my toner out due to its acidity, but apart from that my hair feels normal and I am happy with the results.
A cheap and natural way of doing it :)
So I was swimming at my friends pool party all day on Australia day and my blonde hair ended up a weird tint of green (not a cute mermaid green, more like pea soup green).
Apparently this is caused by a chemical reaction - copper particles deposit in the hair, which then oxidize and turn green. Just like when you wear certain jewellery and end up with green skin.
I’ve put a container of tomato paste through my hair and wrapped it with glad wrap. I left it on for an hour and a half. The internet says 30 mins but I got distracted tumblring so whatever. Apart from my head smelling like a pizza, I’m hoping that the reviews on it’s amazing capability to cleanse the hair of chlorine green are true.
The anti-oxidants in the tomatoes are supposed to get to work on removing the deposits, and will hopefully get my hair back to normal!
BRB IN 15 MINS. Gonna rinse my hair and get back to ya with the results.
